Britney Robbins, the founder of Gray Matter Experience, was recently recognized for her exceptional leadership and dedication to promoting diversity and access in business & entrepreneurship. At the recent brunch hosted by Community Trust’s African American Legacy, Britney was honored with the prestigious Donald Stewart Fellowship, a testament to her tireless efforts and unwavering determination in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for young people across Chicago.
Spotlight on African American Leaders
The fellowship aims to shine a spotlight on African American leaders who exemplify the same unwavering commitment to education, diversity, and inclusion as former President and CEO of the Trust Dr. Donald Stewart. With a distinguished career that includes his role as president of Spelman College, leadership at the College Board (responsible for administering the SAT and college scholarships), and a directorship at the New York Times Company, among other notable achievements, Stewart's accomplishments serve as a guiding inspiration for fellowship recipients. By recognizing and supporting these outstanding leaders, the fellowship honors Stewart's legacy and encourages continued progress in fostering educational opportunities and promoting diversity and inclusivity in our society.
In a recent interview, Britney spoke about her passion for uplifting underrepresented voices and empowering communities. She shared how her own experiences as a Black woman in the corporate world inspired her to create Gray Matter Experience, a program that provides business education and mentorship to young entrepreneurs of color.
